One of the most notable features of Apple's Passkeys is its end-to-end encryption and use of biometrics to secure and protect one's saved login method to different apps and websites for iOS and macOS. Passkeys help with averting phishing attacks or hackers getting ahold of one's passwords to use for their access to one's account. ![]() However, this was not the first revelation of Apple's Passkeys, as it was originally unveiled in WWDC 2021 and was set for internal testing before arriving with the feature. Apple's Passkeys and its FeaturesĪpple officially debuted the Passkeys feature during WWDC 2022, and it originally came with the iOS 16 operating system, promising a "passwordless" experience with the devices. This organization is known for its active efforts to eradicate password use and focus on other methods of authentication available in the present day. In line with its significant commitment to expanding more of the app's security and capabilities, TikTok also announced that it is now a FIDO Alliance member, joining the likes of Apple and Google.
